Many patients exhibit some level of anxiety about having dental treatment. If this includes you, rest assured that you are by no means alone. The anxiety you may feel can be alleviated with a simple regimen of taking a sedative given to you for the appointment. This is done in coordination with someone providing transportation to and from your dental appointments. This regimen is used for patients who experience moderate to severe anxiety or for longer appointments. Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) can be administered for shorter appointments and do not require anyone to transport you to and from the office if you only experience mild to moderate anxiety symptoms.
